Our Services

Preventive Care
Preventive care is the foundation of a healthy smile. Through regular cleanings, exams, fluoride treatments, and sealants, we help protect your child’s teeth from cavities and catch small issues before they become big ones. Our goal is to keep your child comfortable, confident, and cavity-free.

Restorative Care
When dental issues happen, we’re here with gentle, effective solutions. From tooth-colored fillings to crowns and everything in between, our restorative care is designed to fix problems while keeping kids relaxed and at ease. We use child-friendly techniques to make treatment as stress-free as possible.

Early Infant Care
A healthy smile starts sooner than most parents think. Our early infant care visits focus on guiding parents through proper oral hygiene, feeding habits, and teething milestones. These early appointments help set the stage for strong teeth and positive dental experiences from the very beginning.
Why choose a Pediatric Dentist?
Pediatric dentists specialize in caring for children’s teeth, gums, and smiles from infancy through the teen years. At Kids Teeth, our two Mt. Pleasant offices are designed to feel welcoming and kid-friendly, helping reduce anxiety and build positive dental experiences early on. Our pediatric dentists are trained in child behavior, communication, and comfort techniques that make visits easier for both kids and parents. They also focus on prevention, education, and early detection to support healthy smiles as your child grows.
What is a Pediatric Dentist?
A pediatric dentist is a dental specialist who completes additional training beyond dental school focused entirely on children’s oral health. This includes advanced education in child development, behavior management, and the treatment of baby teeth, developing smiles, and growing jaws. Pediatric dentists are uniquely qualified to care for infants, children, teens, and children with special healthcare needs. Their goal is to create a strong foundation for lifelong oral health in a safe, supportive environment.

Insurance
Let Us Help You Navigate Your Insurance
Kids Teeth will always provide the best-estimated cost before treatment is administered. We routinely monitor multiple dental insurance plans, their premiums and the benefits. This allows us to accurately inform our patient families which procedures are typically covered and how to maximize their benefits. To receive a “pre-estimate,” call us with your insurance information and we’ll review your plan prior to your child’s visit.
Please note that we do need all insurance information several days in advance to provide the best estimated cost.
How Can Kids Teeth Work With Your Dental Benefits?
We have a large percentage of patients that do have and utilize dental insurance. Let us show you how you can get the most out of your benefit package!
No Insurance? No Problem!
For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards and offer a 5% discount for cash or check payments. You can pay securely online. In addition, we offer a $25 credit when you refer a friend and they book an appointment at one of our Mount Pleasant, South Carolina locations.
Why We Are Out of Network
Being out of network allows Kids Teeth to focus entirely on what’s best for your child — not what an insurance company dictates. This flexibility lets our team spend more time with each family, use high-quality materials, and recommend care based on your child’s needs, not coverage limits. We’re committed to making care as accessible as possible and will always help you file insurance claims to maximize your available benefits. Our goal is simple: exceptional, personalized pediatric dental care with transparency and support every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should my child first see a dentist?
Aligned with American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) guidelines, we recommend scheduling your child’s first dental visit by their first birthday or 6 months after their first tooth appears, whichever comes first. Early visits help your child get comfortable in the dental office and allow us to guide you on proper oral care from the start. These early checkups can prevent issues before they begin.
How often should my child have dental checkups?
Most children should visit the dentist every six months for cleanings and exams. Regular visits help us monitor growth, catch cavities early, and reinforce healthy brushing and flossing habits. Consistent care makes a big difference in long-term oral health.
What if my child is nervous about the dentist?
Are baby teeth really that important?
Absolutely. Baby teeth play a crucial role in speech development, proper chewing, and guiding permanent teeth into place. Keeping them healthy helps prevent pain, infection, and future orthodontic issues. Strong baby teeth set the stage for a healthy adult smile.
What should I do if my child has a dental emergency?
If your child experiences a dental emergency, call our office as soon as possible. We’ll guide you on what to do right away and help get your child seen quickly. Prompt care can often prevent more serious problems and get your child comfortable again fast.
What is a pediatric dentist and why should I choose one?
A pediatric dentist is a dentist who specializes in caring for children’s teeth—from infants and toddlers through teens. After dental school, pediatric dentists complete additional training focused on child development, behavior management, and the unique dental needs of growing smiles. Choosing a pediatric dentist means your child gets care in a setting designed just for them—kid-friendly, gentle, and supportive—so visits feel safe and positive. Pediatric dentists also have extra expertise in preventing cavities, guiding proper tooth development, and helping children build healthy habits that last a lifetime.
