glitter Tooth brush timers

How to make a glitter toothbrush timer at home

Is your child not spending enough time brushing? We understand that brushing for a full two minutes can be hard for kids but taking this time now can save them from severe dental pain in the future. Get them excited about brushing longer by making your own glitter tooth brush timer at home. This timer will help encourage brushing for a full two minutes – plus it’s colorful, sparkly, and a great craft to do on a rainy day.

Supplies Needed:
  • 1 330ml VOSS bottle or 11.5oz art bottle
  • 1/4 cup Karo light corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 tsp of glitter
  • 1 squirt of food coloring
  • Gorilla glue or super glue

Empty water bottle (if needed) and set water aside. Add 1/4 cup Karo syrup to the bottle. Then add 1 1/2 cups water. Select your desired color and gently add food coloring. Next add 2 teaspoons of glitter. Last, permanently seal the bottle by adding glue around inside of lid, close tightly before you shake.

Time to Brush:

Each time you brush, gently shake your bottle and allow glitter to settle. It should take about 2 minutes for the glitter to stop moving. We also like to recite this fun rhyme while we use them: Each morning and night, For two minutes the docs say, Use your shiny glitter timers, To help fight tooth decay.

Let’s make glitter timers together:

Kids Teeth loves to visit mom groups, daycares, church groups and schools. If you have a group of less than 25 kids that are ages 4-5, let’s arrange a visit. We will make glitter timers together, discuss the importance to brushing for two minutes, and practice brushing together on our oversized teeth! Ready to learn more? Contact
