Why was I prescribed PreviDent and how do I use it?

PreviDent is a prescription strength toothpaste that combines the cleaning power of a toothpaste with prescription-strength fluoride.  It helps restore the breakdown of enamel, prevents further decay, and aids plaque removal.  It is often prescribed to our patients currently in braces to help strengthen teeth and avoid decalcification while wearing orthodontics.

Instructions for use:

First and most importantly, disregard directions on the bottle and follow the steps below.

1. First, brush and floss thoroughly without toothpaste
2. Apply small amount (pea size) to your brush
3. Brush and spit but DO NOT rinse
4. Brush at night only, unless otherwise instructed by the doctor or hygienist.
